    ABILITY HOOPS (8 to 12 years olds)

    SAFE, SUPPORTIVE

    Surfcoast Basketball Association is excited to introduce Ability Hoops to our Surf Coast community.

    Ability Hoops is Basketball Australia’s inclusive basketball program for children aged 8–12 with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. It provides a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where every participant can experience the fun of basketball.

    About the Program

    Ability Hoops offers structured and enjoyable sessions designed to help participants develop basketball skills while building confidence and social connections.
    Through fun activities and games, participants will practise:

    • Dribbling, passing and shooting
    • Teamwork and communication
    • Coordination and movement
    • Confidence and social skills
    No previous basketball experience is required. The program is focused on participation, enjoyment and helping every child feel comfortable and included.
    The program will take place on Thursday afternoons at Bellbrae Primary School.
